Rudolph, the Red Nosed "DEI Hire"?

This was my most popular post for 2024. And one year later people still don't fully understand what Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion or DEI really is, and it's NOT about hiring quotas for Black peoples and Women as some would have us believe.

Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion includes:
✅ Pay Equity & Transparency (a concept that MTG recently requested)
✅ Workplace Accommodations (e.g. ramps & sidewalk curb cuts) for Peoples Living with Disabilities
✅ Parental Leave (both time & pay, another concept that a GOP Senator requested)
✅ Not having to just accept workplace harassment, either micro-aggressions and/or blatant discrimination (policies and laws that are currently being removed)
✅ Floating Paid Holidays (in North America and other Western countries, Christian and Jewish religious holidays are automatic privileges that many of us take for granted)
✅ And so much more...
For people who are anti-DEI and anti-Woke but who love Christmas and the folklore around Rudolph The Red Nosed Reindeer 🔴🦌.
I wonder if they know that Rudolph’s story is a classic example of why DEI and accepting people who are different is important; which means it's also woke.
After being called names and ostracized from the reindeer games (both experiences that so many marginalized peoples have experienced in the workplace) one stormy night Santa Claus realizes that what makes Rudolph different, his shiny nose, is actually a difference that helps the organization to achieve its goals. Santa and the other elves “wake up” (i.e. woke) and begin to understand how what makes Rudolph unique ends up saving Christmas.
