About
I am the co-founder of Gulf Island Seaplanes, a seaplane business on the west coast of British Columbia that started in 2014. Drawing on a combined love of adventure and travel, my husband and co-founder, Sean, and I, have worked extremely hard to grow as a business over the years, cultivating a strong reputation for excellent customer service, safety, and attention to detail. As an Indigenous female business owner and mother of four, the path has been challenging and rewarding, and surrounding the business with strong, incredibly hard working and loyal staff has been the key to Gulf Island Seaplanes success.
I am Gitxsan through my father from the Hagwilget Village First Nation living the past 18 years in Nanaimo on the beautiful lands of the Snuneymuxw people. We operate across many unceded sacred territories and give thanks to our ancestors who since time immemorial have hunted, fished and taken care of these lands.
Indigenous tourism is a rapidly growing industry and a huge part of the rebounding Canadian economy. I believe that creating a cultural experience flight is not only a contribution to reconciliation by creating the opportunity to share knowledge and history of lived experience but also an incredible opportunity to showcase the resilience and triumphs of the local Indigenous peoples. Please keep an eye on us for when we launch these exciting ideas!
